Ashleigh and Ethan’s story starts at a bonfire, under the stars. Sparks flew between them and it was all love from that moment on.
Their wedding day was full of so much joy. Ashleigh is probably one of the happiest brides I have ever had the pleasure to work with. From the beginning of the day, she was SO giddy and grateful to be able to spend the morning with her girlfriends and celebrate her new husband with all of her family—new and old.
Her family was at the center of so many details for her wedding from having a first look with her dad, her brothers, and a surprise one with her uncle, to using the same good lucky penny her mother used at her wedding. Ashleigh actually introduced me to this wedding tradition. Even with as many weddings as I’m involved in, there’s still new customs and traditions I learn about all the time. That’s one of the perks of the job; I love hearing the ways people make their days special and honor the ones they love.
One thing about me is I am a hugger, so I totally understood Ashleigh when after they shared their private vows and had their first touch, she was ready to throw the whole “not seeing each other” out the door to see her soon-to-be husband and give him a hug. I can respect Ethan for holding the ground though, and it made seeing her down the aisle all the more sweeter.
(Even if hugging after their vows would’ve been just as sweet 🤪)
One moment I’ll never forget is when Ashleigh pulled out her teacher’s voice and told the whole bridal party to get it together. “If y’all were in my class, you would all have silent lunch by now.” She just absolutely cracked me up with that one. I love a bride who has her bridal party under control!
A few of Ashleigh’s students (she’s a second grade teacher) even came to the ceremony and reception! She’s got such a good heart; Ethan got himself a good one!
As if I couldn’t love Ashleigh and Ethan more, they really have a heart for printed images, so we worked really hard together to create several albums for their engagement and wedding and curate prints for their home. I always love when I can work with couples who care as much about an album design and curation as I do.
Photos mean so much more on a wall or in an album, and it makes me feel so good to know that they are being enjoyed beyond social media and are in the hands of family, friends, and the people who love you.
