New Bern truly showed off for Macy’s senior session. Everything was in full bloom, the sun was shining, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. This quiet coastal town is one of my all-time favorite places to photograph senior portraits, and it never fails to deliver the most dreamy backdrops.

Macy is part of my 2025 Senior Membership, and although we’ve had several sessions throughout her senior year, there’s always something extra special about our 1:1 time together! For her individual senior session, she, her mom, and I spent the evening wandering through the historic Tryon Palace gardens and stopping at all my favorite spots along Eden, Pollock, and George street. We all had the best time together!

Macy is graduating from North Lenoir High School and has big dreams of going into the dental field. What I love most is that she’s the sweetest soul with just the right amount of sass. Case in point? She brought a full-body mirror in the trunk of her car to check each outfit. Honestly, GENIUS move! I’m officially adding one to my senior kit🤭

We wrapped up at the marina to tie in Macy’s love for boating and the beach. One thing about being by the water, the wind is part of the experience and you just have to embrace it! We definitely had some wind-blown moments, but we were making the most of it and laughing the whole time as we dodged wind gusts between boats and wiped away wind-tears. Then, in classic New Bern fashion, a kind boat owner came out and offered us her docked boat for photos. Macy and I both looked at each other with wide eyes and the biggest smiles (you already know I said yes to that!) It’s spontaneous, in-the-moment moments like these that make senior sessions so iconic and memorable. We ended with a beautiful sunset over the water and true, genuine joy.

New Bern continues to be my most sought-after, requested location for senior sessions in Eastern North Carolina — and for good reason! From blooming gardens and charming streets to coastal views and historic Southern architecture, it’s the perfect setting for timeless, personality-filled portraits. Macy’s session will forever be one of my favorites… just like her!
